If you have a larger room these will blow your mind and possibly rattle your walls. I suggest you try the ancient Altec Voice of the Theatre A7’s. They are improved in all ways over the I, II and III versions of this speaker and offer up a better top end, a better midrange and tighter better sounding bass. The next morning when I fired up the stereo with the speakers still against the wall – Voilá! It draws you in and yes it gets addicting. While the Qln excel in other areas they just can not touch the Corn’s in their ability to shake your foundations and bring a live concert into your room. At $6000 they are not cheap but hey, they are not cheap speakers. The Klipsch Cornwall IV are FANTASTIC. At $3300 you get a pre amp, class A/B amp, DAC, streamer, 5″ display, amazing weighted volume dial on top and no need for fancy cables. Play some strings on these and be wowed by the emotional beauty they can push out. But volume alone is not the most important metric. This last version brings its fair share of innovations, among which are new speaker drivers, a modified crossover filter and a bass-reflex enclosure. When the brass cuts in, there should be a visceral grunt. Spend $6000 on these? Acoustic instruments are amazing with these, as is the Human Voice.
